In today’s insecure homebuilding/land development industry, finding good buildable land for subdivisions with sewer access is challenging.

The STEP (Septic Tank Effluent Pump) collection system uses pressurized 2-3 inch diameter lines buried only 2-3 feet below the ground. The lines can go up and down steep hills, around rocks, and can avoid any flood plain areas. 

The need for lift stations and digging deep trenches for a gravity sewer system is eliminated. Plus, with a gravity sewer system, the developer has to build the whole sanitary infrastructure up-front. With the STEP collection system the infrastructure can be constructed as the houses are built, allowing the sewer collection cost in the subdivision to be rolled into the sales price of the homes. The STEP collection system can typically lower the normal up-front development costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars.
